There is not one of us in this world that does not get to a point somewhere in life where we feel overwhelmed with what's going on around us.
This comes about from many things, but in my experience it comes about from either change or from a to do list that gets bigger everyday without achieving anything.
Our expectations of being there for everyone and doing everything humanly possible, in an immediate time frame, starts to take its toll and we get so involved with it all that we don't stop to smell the roses.
Taking time out for ourselves and simplifying what is right in front of us is really important. Not just when we are 40 years of age with three kids, a dog, two cats and working full time, but even when we are 20 years of age and full of life without fear, we need to learn to break down the stresses around us.
Simplify what you have in front of you and take it for what it is. Don't create mountains out of molehills. Deal with the issue, or change, for what it is.
Change is needed and change is required to live and grow. Every day we make a change. We select different shoes to wear, a different jumper to put on, or a different lunch to have. We are always making a change. So why when there is something we deem significant, we find it hard to make a decision on? Yet, it's just change.
When we have to make a decision on something we can't foresee the impact or the result of, we tend to have to think about it more. This makes us sensible decision makers. However, when we end up with a lot of these, it becomes overwhelming, to say the least, and the pressure to make the right decision becomes enourmous.
Take a step back and simplify what you have in front of you, and some of these decisions can be made with ease. Communicate with those around you, speak of the facts, speak of the feelings and put it all out on the table. Making a decision will be easier.
Keep it simple.
Keep it real.
Be the best version of you.
